Application:

  • Khazanah Watan (local program) and Khazanah Global (overseas program) 
  • You can apply to both programs 
  • Essay and CV are needed so prepare them early 
  • You will be notified via email whether your application makes it to the next stage or not. 

 

Selection Process: 

Watan – 4 Stages 

Global – 5 Stages 

 

·        Stage 1 – Verbal & Numerical Ability Test: Cubiks  online 

                 Logiks Numerical (Advanced)  

                 Logiks Verbal (Advanced) 

 

·        Stage 2 – Personality & Moral Reasoning Test: Cubiks online 

                  Team Role Questionnaire 

                  Cultural Reasoning Inventory 

                  Personality and Preference Inventory Assessment (PAPI 3N) 

 

·        Stage 3 – 2 Assessments:  

·        Group Exercise (Assessment Centre (2022) - Mardhiyyah Hotel & Suites, Shah Alam, Selangor) 

: group case study - discuss, give out opinion 

·        Competency Based Interview (individual, virtual-SKYPE) 

: leadership, empathy, tenacity – achievements, how you solve problem with your team members, etc 

 

·        Stage 4 – Interview with the YK Management (group, virtual-Zoom meeting)  

-  Group case study (world/nation-based issues) 

        e.g: handling the annual flood problem, factors & method to alleviate 

              : bankruptcy among youth, why & how to prevent 

              : cybersecurity issues related to finance 

 

For Watan candidates, this will be your last stage of the selection process. If you apply for both, you will be notified which program you are chosen for once you pass stage 3. 

 

  

·        Stage 5 – Interview with YK Board of Trustee (individual, virtual-Zoom meeting) 

·        Questions can be very varied 

e.g: 

- what course, which universities you want to apply, your family, your achievements in your previous school 

 

- For me personally, this is the scariest stage yet the most relaxed interview I’ve ever had so brace yourself mate you’ve got this! 

 

Disclaimer: this is based on my experience in 2022. They might slightly differ depending on which year you’re applying for the scholarship. 

 

 

        Bonus tips! 

    • Be genuine and true to yourself 
    • Dream big 
    • Be confident all the way 
    • Humility 
    • Prepare the answer beforehand but don’t memorize it word by word 
    • It is important that you want to contribute back to the community, that you want to serve the nation 
    • Believe that you’re worthy of the scholarship 
    • Don’t belittle yourself if you’re not fluent in English. It’s totally fine! 
    • Research YK mission, understand the reason behind them giving the scholarship and align it with your goal 
    • Leadership and teamwork skills is most important during group assessment
